Eric Roberson
Founder / CEO
FROM CHICAGO… the Son of South Shore… HOOPTEQ’s Founder… Eric Roberson!
Eric played ball at Prairie State Junior College (but swears he’d have gone D1 if he had HOOPTEQ growing up). He earned a Master’s in Social Entrepreneurship from the University of Southern California to pursue his passion for impact and business. Eric started building HOOPTEQ in his backyard, and decided to work full time on it after talking to, and surveying 300+ hoopers who said they lacked access to elite basketball training.
Who is Eric outside of work?
Mostly hoop, watch WNBA, keep up with Chicago high school hoops, and spend time with family. I’m mostly lowkey, introverted, and am ashamed of how much time I play Star Dew Valley on the Switch.
What do you love most about being part of the HOOPTEQ team?
Seeing HOOPTEQ in places it wasn’t supposed to be. Parks, backyards, and school gyms with no budget.
Paul Frugé II

Hailing from sunny San Diego… your starting shooting guard, marketing maestro, and global brand builder — Paul Frugé II!
Paul is a marketing strategist and business leader passionate about driving impact through storytelling. With a career spanning entertainment, consumer products, and nonprofits, he’s helped build globally recognized brands and campaigns across diverse industries. At HOOPTEQ, he brings sharp creative vision and go-to-market expertise to the team’s bold mission.
Who is Paul outside of work?
I’m a fun and easygoing person. When I’m not working, you’ll find me at the beach—either reading a book or walking in the sand. I’m a foodie, so I love discovering amazing new food and drinks. Movies and anime are my go-to when I want to unwind—great characters, strong visuals, and unforgettable stories. And when it comes to travel, say the word—I’ll go anywhere. So far, my favorite places I’ve been are Japan and South Africa.
What do you love most about being part of the HOOPTEQ team?
I love that we’re building something the world has never seen before. HOOPTEQ is here to change the game and give hoopers that extra edge to help them reach their goals. When I was younger, I spent countless nights in the driveway practicing and never imagined a product like this could exist. I’m excited to be part of this team and to help make future hoopers’ dreams come true.

Joseph Roberson
Director of Partnerships
FROM CHICAGO!!!!.... Feet on the ground and grassroot connected... your Director of Partnerships...Joseph Roberson!!!
Joseph is a former Chicago Public School teacher (34 years) that has a passion for the Chicago community. He has developed decades worth of genuine relationships in the Chicagoland area that have been leveraged into authentic friendships and business associates. He has also established a niche in New York City via his personal love for repping Chicago on the basketball courts on Staten Island and West 4th Street in Manhattan!
Who is Joseph outside of work?
I love my relationship with God above ALL else and from that everything flows. I love being with my wife, kids, and grand rascals. I love Dickens, London, and saying "Govna" every chance I get.
What do you love most about being part of the HOOPTEQ team?
HOOPTEQ is what it is...remarkable, innovative and a joy to be connected with but the real joy that I experience from being associated with HOOPTEQ is my association with one of my best friends and son, HPTQ founder, Eric Roberson!
Aaron Frugé
Intern
Coming in all the way from HOTLANTA — bringing the speed, the hops, and the intern hustle — meet Aaron Frugé!
Aaron is a student-athlete in his 3rd year at the University of California, Riverside, majoring in media studies. He’s spent the past few years gaining real-world experience through marketing and business internships. Born in Atlanta and raised between Dallas and San Diego, Aaron brings a sharp blend of creativity, drive, and vision to the HOOPTEQ team. With his competitive spirit and fresh perspective, Aaron is part of the next generation helping HOOPTEQ level up.
Who is Aaron outside of work?
I’m an NCAA Division 1 track athlete at UCR, competing as a jumper and sprinter. When I’m not training, you’ll usually find me hanging out with friends and eating good food.
What do you love most about being part of the HOOPTEQ team?
The HOOPTEQ team is innovative. I love how we can share ideas that are leading to push the same outcome. I believe this idea will change basketball training for the normal day to day hooper.
